Q: What makes Cincinnati a great place to start a business?
A: Cincinnati has built a really great ecosystem for entrepreneurs, between, funding and accelerators and mentors and partnerships this low key is a great place to start a tech company and CPG.

Q: How did a grant from Main Street Ventures impact you and your business?
A: This grant has helped Jamaa, begin to build out V2 of the application and hire a design team to begin building our customer-facing website.

Q: What does a typical day in your life look like?
A: Yikes, I try to keep a pretty tight routine in the AM, so I get up around 6:28 every day and walk my dog, call my family to just get some positive energy going, then I call my business partners and Co-Founders during the walk. After that, I go home drink about 16oz of water and strap in for a wild day of meetings and training and whatever else comes my way. Jamaa is not quite large enough to support an FTE so I have a day job. I am the Director of the Strong Cincinnati Institute where I help, teams, organizations, and leaders create cultures where people can be their best, so it is fun.

Q: What is a lesson you’ve learned that has shaped your work?
A: Hire experts, who believe in your work and move as fast as you can.

Q: What’s next for Jamaa Health?
A: GROWTH.
